# Prerequisites
- A PC or tablet that follow the minimum system requirements
- Check for and install all pending Windows updates
- Administrative rights on the computer
- Internet access
# Create a Windows user
We'll start by creating a local user in Windows, to be used by the Motiview application. This is to ensure no personal documents or files are exposed to the end users while using Motiview. If you already have a dedicated user on the computer for Motiview usage, you can skip this step.
Click the ⊞Start button, and go to Settings > Accounts, and then select Family & other users
Select Add someone else to this PC
Select I don't have this person's sign-in information, and on the next page, select Add a user without a Microsoft account.
Enter
Motiview
as the user name, and let the password be blank, and click NextTIP
If you have a Windows 10 Professional computer, or have an IT department that manage user accounts, you might have policies that says you need a password. If so, make sure the password is available for the users of the computer
# Log in to the Motiview user
After creating the Motiview user in Windows, we will now log into this account to install Motiview
Select the Start button, and click on your user to select Motiview
Log in to the newly created account
TIP
If your computer asks for a username and password, you'll use
.\Motiview
as the username (including the dot and backslash)
# Install the Motiview application
Open Microsoft Store on your computer / tablet, and search for
Motiview
. You can also click here to open the Motiview page in MS Store directlyNOTE
If Microsoft Store isn't available on your computer, you can install Motiview by enabling sideloading. Please get in touch with us if you need this.
Click Get to download the application. Note that you don’t need to log in to a Microsoft account to be able to enjoy Motiview.

The application should now be installed on your desktop. We encourage you to do some additional steps to make it easier to find and launch Motiview
Pin Motiview to the Task bar
To make the application easier to find for the Motiview users, you could pin it to the task bar.
- Open up the Start menu
- Find the Motiview icon, and drag and drop it to the task bar

To make the application easier to find for the Motiview users, you could pin it to the start menu.
- Open up the Start menu
- Right click on the Motiview icon, and choose Pin to Start
- Motiview is now pinned in the start menu
Open Motiview automatically when Windows start
Press ⊞Win+R, and open the following location
%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start menu\Programs\Startup
Drag and drop the Motiview application from the Start menu to this folder
Open up Motiview, and add your license code when prompted. After entering the license and clicking next, Motiview will start up for its first time. The application need to do some background tasks to enable all functionality, and this could take a couple of minutes.
TIP
Even though it is not required for Motiview to work, we recommend keeping the computer connected to the internet, to enable the users to download new videos, and get the latest product updates and fixes automatically.
